There are six subject areas that span the 7th - 12th grade curriculum:
English / Language Arts
Foreign Languages
Mathematics
Science
History
Bible
Renee Brown (6th-8th Math, Bible), Kaylee Okenye (9th-12th Math, 7th-12th Science) and Eddie Brown (7th - 12th Science) will be the Content Specialists that oversee the curricular construction in the areas indicated and develop pacing guides. These are unpaid positions . . . . we are donating our time and expertise to this project.
Building the Basics
For the other subjects, we will hire 4-6 Content Specialists to create pacing guides for the various grades. The Content Specialists will be trained to create TRQ questions and homework problems with the Chem21Labs software. They will also learn how to create images for TRQ questions and homework problems using Adobe Animate CC. The artwork in the animated video and on this website was created by Eddie Brown using Adobe Animate CC. He will be responsible for the Adobe Animate CC training of the Content Speicialists.
After 4-6 weeks, we will hire 2 Content Developers in each subject area (12 total). The Content Developers will be trained by the Content Specialists (and Chem21Labs) to create TRQ questions . . . . 2000 - 5000 per subject area per year. One or two Content Developers per subject area will also be trained on Animate CC to create TRQ / homework images. Of course these numbers are fluid and we will reallocate resources as needed to complete our goals.
Putting it Together
The pacing guides will be used to create TRQ questions, memorization assignments, homework questions and essay topics for each subject area.
TRQ questions: biology, math and foreign languages will require a large number of TRQ images. These images can be static or animated. An animated image in biology could have a blinking arrow pointing to the objective lens on a microscope and the student selects the answer (multiple choice) or types the answer (fill-in-the-blank). In math, a question could have a blinking quadrant on an x,y graph and the student would select whether it is Quadrant 1, 2, 3, or 4 . . . . or, has a +x / -x and a +y / -y. There are many examples where a TRQ question is asked with just an image.
Memorization: 125 Bible verses will be selected that students will master over the course of 6 years. In addition, historical and literary passages will be identified and placed into a memorization assignment.
Homework: recall that homework problems will be equipped with immediate feedback - there will be video / text help for students after each incorrect try. For video help, it is not expected that a videographer will be needed - a screen capture tool like SnagIt can be used to capture a teacher's explanation as portrayed inside a computer drawing program.
Essay assignments: the number, length and type of writing opportunities will be determined and assigned by the Content Specialists for each subject and grade.
The Videos
Although the TRQs are assignments that transfer "textbook material" to the student's long-term memory, there will be small "gaps" in the curriculum . . . . gaps that will be filled with short videos, reading assignments and tutorials (interactive or PowerPoint). We will segment the pacing guides into learning modules that will be introduced and concluded with a short video. We will hire a videographer and presenters to create this video content.
